This is a famous large antique original painting of a Yorkshire Terrier, this watercolour painting of the Yorkshire Terrier "Ch. Harringay Remarkable" is fully signed by the famous English specialist dog artist N. Roberts and dates to 1934, in superb original condition, this is the original painting for the famous colour illustration that can be found in the Yorkshire Terrier section of the 3 volume dog book from 1934 "Hutchinson's Dog Encyclopaedia" the dog was bred and owned by E. H. Clenshaw and was not quite 4 years old when this portrait was painted from life in the early summer of 1934, the dog won over 50 silver trophies and was best Yorkshire Terrier at the Kennel Club shows of 1932, 1933 and 1934 the dog was an unbeaten champion in England and was thought to be the smallest and best coloured Yorkshire Terrier bitch ever seen,  overall size including frame approx. 16" x 16" this is the ORIGINAL watercolour painting signed and titled by the artist, it is NOT a print or reproduction of any sort, possibly the most famous painting of a Yorkshire Terrier.
