• Item is good for determining the frequency of a remote. So you can determine if 2 different remotes are on the same frequency. For example if you had a Insignia and Dynex remote you would know if they are on the same frequency, because on the Sys screen they would have the same code.
• It's quite simple to use if you are checking the frequency of a Tv or an audio remote.
• So please don't get bogged down with the other information presented. Data screen shows a number on the screen and sometimes (depending on the button you touch) a number and letter for a particular button you touch .
• You get a different number for each button you use. For example if you hit the 1 button the remote,on the data screen you would most likely see the number 1. I hit the menu button on a Toshiba and the number came up 80 on the data screen. Some buttons you touch like volume up is 1A ,volume down 1E.
• There are 3 modes for formats.
• For testing the frequencies on the remotes you would hit mode button and choose the A (automatic) format.
• There is also a H 6124b format and F format by hitting the mode button.
• There is also 24 formats you can choose by, by touching the format cursors. There are different brands you can choose from by touching the format buttons. Just look at the picture on the back of the box.
• When powering on, please hold down the button for a few seconds.
