Description:Here for auction is this Dudson Jackfield (Ridgways)
earthenware pitcher with a shiny black finish which provides a ground for a variety of decorative treatments including painting, printing and jewelling.
Ebony is the trade name for a brand of jetware that was long believed to be the product of the Dudson factory. Recent research has begun to suggest that it was also made by E.J. Ridgway at the Bedford Works. The pattern features a chinoiserie enamel design, and is simply pattern numbered on the bottom, 9532. Circa 1870's.
Condition:
No chips, cracks or repairs. Just typical antique wear.
