John Ridgway 4472 Hand Painted Scenic Landscape Blue & Gold Vase C. 1835 AS IS

British  bone china vase with molded swan handles. Decorated with a hand painted scenic landscape with trees, a bridge and mountains in the central portion. With a blue, ivory, and gold background and gold to the top portion of the handles. Has the pattern number 4472 in red on the base. A vase in the identical form is pictured on page 131 of Ridgway Porcelains by Geoffrey Godden. Circa 1835.
One of the handles has been broken off entirely and glued back on. The other handle has a small section in the swan's neck that has been broken off and glued back in. There are also two hairlines in the central portion of the body that are hard to see. Also has some wear to the gilding and crazing typical of British porcelain.
Measures approximately 6 inches wide from handle to handle x 7 5/8 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
