    Description

John Ridgway Hand Painted Floral Green & Gold Tea Cup Circa 1830-1835
Nice bone china tea cup. Decorated with gold gilt floral designs on the outside. Hand painted pink, orange, yellow, white, and purple flowers on the inside. With a border of green with gold flowers and scrollwork. Marked on the bottom with a red fraction pattern number that is somewhat illegible. It looks like maybe 2/3581. Attributed to John Ridgway, page 119 plate 129 of Ridgway Porcelains by Geoffrey Godden and page 158 plate 943 of A Compendium of British Cups by Michael Berthoud. Circa 1830 to 1835.
Has some crazing typical of bone china, numerous heavy stained crazing lines to the handle and some wear to the gilding, but no post manufacture chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 4 1/2 inches wide including the handle x 2 5/8 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not effect the display of the piece.
