Rare Vintage Jane Callender California Original Yorkshire Terrier Pottery Statue

A rare original by artist Jane Callender of California Yorkie vintage (1940's-1950's) statue in shades of brown & grey. Wonderful condition. No chips or cracks! With foil sticker. Measures 4” tall x 3” wide.
Ms Callender (who studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and in the art circle with the likes of Dali, Hemingway, Stein, etc) was very famous in the California art pottery world and the Laguna Beach College of Art & Design named their sculpture studio in her honor. During WWII she made ceramic sculptures of celebrity dogs and also modeled her designs after Westminster and AKC champions. She invented the art of "spaghetti" pottery that shows texture and coat.
