Description

Ridgway England round serving bowl in the Balmoral pattern of blue onion flower design measures 2-1/4" tall x 8-7/8" diameter at top. Marked on bottom, "Genuine Hand Engraving, Ridgway, Ironstone, Est 1792, Staffordshire England, All Colours Guaranteed, Underglaze and Detergent Proof, 'Balmoral'.
This is a used piece and shows visible signs of wear and use
. No chips or cracks, but visible scuff marks and scratches/utensil marks inside and out, consistent with moderate to heavy use and handling, and including a 1/2" fairly prominent yellow-colored scuff mark on body. Multiple small "pepper marks" and blue glaze run marks of discoloration inside and on body, and visible scuffing and discoloration in several spots to bottom side bottom ring rim.
