    Ridgway Beauties of America Capital Washington Transferware Well & Tree Platter
    Nice dark blue Historical Staffordshire well and tree pearlware platter in the Capital Washington pattern from the Beauties of America series. Marked Beauties of America Capital Washington J & W Ridgway. Circa 1818 to 1830. Probably an artist's impression of Benjamin Henry Latrobe's modification of Doctor William Thornton's original design. The current dome was added beginning in 1855.
    Has crazing typical of pearlware, usage wear consistent with age, glaze flaking along the rim, and a stacking flake to the foot. Otherwise good condition.
    Measures approximately 20 3/4 inches long x 15 3/4 inches wide x 2 3/4 inches tall.
