    Description

    This is an extremely hard to find transferware tea caddy by Ridgway, English semi-porcelain makers.
    The piece is marked on the base with the pattern, 'Prairie Flowers', a series of mold and decorators numbers, and the company mark dating from 1885 through 1890.
    The piece is made of white semi-porcelain decorated with red transferware decoration.  The handles on the lid and body of the piece are shaped like classical style dolphins.
    The piece is in excellent vintage condition with only one EXTREMELY small flake inside of the lid, but no other visible flaws or major wear.
    The caddy measures (with lid on) 6" tall and 7.8" x 5.5" wide.
