    Description

    Here is a nice footed tea cup and saucer from Royal Vale by Ridgway with a thatched cottage and garden pattern.  The cup measures 3 3/8inches diameter at the top X 2 3/4 inches tall and the saucer is 5 1/2 inches diameter X approx 3/8 inches deep.  The saucer has a few scratches on the top surface (see the photo on the top of the saucer) where the cup sits and both the cup and and saucer have some wear to the gold trim.  Ridgway Potteries made the Royal Vale line from 1954 when Ridgway & Adderley Ltd merged with Booths & Codclough's Ltd.  This group became Ridgway Potteries Ltd in early 1955 and started using this back stamp from then until the company was sold in 1964.  This back stamp may have been used after the company was sold, possibility until 1978.  Buy Happy!
