Vintage Ridgway Brown Cup and Saucer with Silver Tn Rim Souvenir of U.S. Capitol

Description

An interesting vintage brown cup and saucer set made be Ridgway Potteries in England.  A souvenir of the U.S. Capitol, this was made in the 40s or possibly earlier.  The cup is unmarked but the saucer is marked Ridgway and England.  There is some other text which is no longer entirely visible.  I can make out "The Nation," "Remembrance," and "Washington DC," but not the rest.
The saucer is approximately 5 1/4 inches across.
The cup is approximately 4 inches long (counting the handle), 3 3/8 inches wide, and slightly under 2 1/4 inches tall.
This set is previously owned and quite old.  It has wear on the silver tone trim and small marks here and there from use and handling, and crazing due to age.  There are also some marks on the bottoms of these pieces in the glazing that come from the manufacturer.  Please examine the photos.  Additional pictures are available upon request.
